A little fun fact about the future bride & groom: we love checking out new libraries. As we adventure to new small towns, a little hobby we like to call “the official small town tour” (creative, eh?) we always, always, always stop by to check out the local library.
Ironically, there is no reading involved in this little hobby of ours. We typically walk through it, check it out, meet a local or two, maybe even play a game of library hide & seek (that’s between me and you), and then we are on our merry way.
Because of our quirky little hobby, we figured a library themed save-the-date was the perfect way to tell our favorite people that we’re getting hitched… in December! Plus, Matt and I are pretty old fashioned and appreciate the simple things in life, and we thought this card displayed just that. It’s “so us”, and that’s all I could ever ask for in a save-the-date.
Once we knew this was the ticket, I immediately contacted the AMAZING Etsy designer behind this masterpiece. I worked with Red Star Designs to come up with look that I loved, and in no time… these treasures were at my doorstep.
Seriously, I would recommend this seller to anyone I knew. Her products are amazing, her customer service is unmatched, and what sets her apart from any other etsy seller I have worked with in the past? She emails you back as close to immediately as possible. I seriously cannot say enough about her… she’s just an Etsy rockstar!
So here’s the front of the postcard. It gives our friends and family a little overview of our relationship.
And this is the reverse side. I opted to make the library card double as a postcard- partly because I love the old fashioned feel of a postcard and partly because I didn’t know what type of envelope to use otherwise. If you create these and don’t want the post card look, you could always do something else on the back or even keep the back blank and stick the whole card in a traditional envelope.
Oh and another perk of the postcard…. cheaper stamp fees (our wedding budget loved that part)!
So there you have it, the scoop on our library inspired save the date.
We’re excited to continue to share our planning along the way. Next week’s wedding edition: our engagement photos! There may or may not be another library sighting…. Shhhhhhhh.
Thanks again Red Star Designs for making our save-the-dates so much more than we ever imagined they would be! We heart you!!
Any other unique save the dates out there? We’d love to see how you and your future groom
created a save the date that’s special to your love.
