Busy Girl DIY – New Year’s Straws

This month has been very busy with all of the holiday projects, DIY’s, and crafts we’ve tackled here on The DIY Playbook. But we really can’t complain. We loved getting into the holiday spirit as we decorated our homes for Christmas and created some personalized gifts for our loved ones.

But now that all of the Christmas chaos is officially over, we’re both craving simplicity. Easy, no-brainer, takes-less-than-five-minutes kinda projects. Today we have a #BusyGirlDIY project that satisfies our “less is more” craving.

2015-Washi-Tape-Straw-FlagsThey’re washi tape flags for your New Year’s Eve drinking straw. When we think of New Year’s Eve parties we think of gold, glitter, and sparkle. These straws definitely fulfill those NYE requirements. We decided to write “2015” on these ones…but there’s no limit on what you could write on here. “Happy New Year’s”, “Kiss me!”, or even just your name (no more sipping someone else’s champagne)ย  would work just fine.

Just take your favorite washi tape, scissors, and a permanent marker..and you’re in business! 2015-NYE-Straw

CorkSo what do you think? Gonna take the extra 5 minutes to personalize your party straws? We know your guests will appreciate the customization as they sip their bubbly all night long!

NYE-VignetteP.S. Here’s a sneak peek from our upcoming New Year’s shoot. Yes, that is a gold star pinata. #youknowyouwantone
