Dancing Emojis! #NerdAlert
Like our Halloween Costumes last year, we try to link our costume choice to represent & remind of us something that happened this year or at least a common theme from the year. What better way to embrace our heart-eyes for emojis this year than to become ones ourselves?! Heck, we knew it was the year of the emoji for us when our moms even jumped on the emoji train this past year. [monkey holding his mouth emoji…. say whaaaattttt?!]
This project takes nearly no time at all to assemble. Here’s what you’ll need along with the exact cost breakdown:

This DIY Halloween costume idea could be great for a pair, but this idea could also be a really great theme for a larger group (family/friends/neighbors/work departments). How fun would it be to dress up as a whole group of emojis?! Everyone in the group could pick their favorite emoji and recreate the look. Each “emoji” could choose one that fits their level of skill in the Halloween Department. There are super simple emojis to recreate (like ours) and ones that can be more intricate for the costume lovers in the crowd. (Pssst…if you’re tech-challenged and emojis aren’t your thing…be sure to check out some of these costume ideas too!)
And just to get this DIY Halloween Costume party started, we are giving away a $50 Michael’s Gift Card so you can get a head’s start on your DIY costume. Let us know which emoji “is totally you” and you’ll be entered to win!
And last but very not least, our new favorite part of each month’s challenge. We cannot WAIT to see what the other 49 insanely creative Michaels Makers are DIY-ing for their Halloween costumes. Adults, kids, pets, this group has all their bases covered. [hand clapping emojis on repeat…..]
