Casey’s Patio — check!
The DIY “dirty work” in Casey’s guest room — check!
Getting the plans ready for our upcoming nursery makeover — check!

We definitely made our to-do lists proud this month by checking off some serious progress on a few different spaces in a short amount of time. Probably our biggest accomplishments have been Casey’s patio reveal & her guest room makeover progress (<– we promise the guest room is just about done and ready for the reveal!!).

If you missed yesterday’s reveal of Casey’s patio, make sure you stop by and check it out (we can’t wait to spend some serious time out there this summer!). And if you’re late to the game in Casey’s guest room makeover, here’s a picture book version of our progress:

You can read the details of each step here:

But the fun didn’t stop with those two projects… why would we make it that easy on ourselves?! This month we were also able to:

So as much as we joke that this month has been a little cray-cray, the truth is that both of us actually enjoy being busy. We LIKE spending our weekends making over the guest room, prepping the patio for photos in the snow (yes… it was snowing — could you tell in these pics?) and getting our plan together for the nursery. And since checking off our to-do lists and completing these projects makes us happy, we count this month as one filled with lots and lots of HAPPY!! =)

Cabo-oceanCasey:ย April really did seem to fly by, but when I look back at the month as a whole…we definitely crammed a lot in there. Most notably was our mini-vacay to Cabo!

finn-beach-cabo-mexicoFinn’s company awarded him with a trip for 2 to Cabo. I’m so proud of the hard work he puts into his job, and it was wonderful for them to acknowledge his dedication. I’m one proud wife!

cabo-mexico-poolWe’ve been to Cancun & Riviera Maya before, but had never visited the other side of Mexico. Let me tell you..it was stunning!

cabo-mexico-beach-oceanIt was refreshing to get away, just us 2, and recharge for a long weekend. We enjoyed sleeping in, hanging poolside, and sipped on lots of yummy tropical drinks.

While on vacay, we also celebrated my 28th birthday with a trip to an amazing restaurant called Flora Farms. My sister (who also happened to be in Cabo at the same time!) took us there for a delicious dinner. IMG_9252Last year we were on our honeymoon for my birthday, and then this year we were in Cabo. I told Finn he is off to a pretty great start with all of these birthday trips! Setting some high expectations for birthdays to come…

Bridget:ย

Arizona_camera_bridget-001Goodbye April, HELLO MAY!!! Let’s talk for a second about how excited I am to see May on my calendar this weekend (insert a line of confetti emojis here). The seniors at the high school I teach at graduate on May 17th (!!) and the rest of the students start summer vacay on May 24th — saaayyyy whhhaaaattttt?! I really love what I do and love my job, but having a little break to rest and recharge from the daily grind is definitely a perk of the job and one that I do NOT take for granted.

Plus time off in the summer = more time to blog and more time for tackling new projects (my favorite)! Hopefully this time off from work means bigger projects, harder DIY projects, more content, and anything else that pops up along the way! But before I get ahead of myself and count summer practically here, I’m pretty darn excited to first tackle May’s makeover project — my future niece or nephew’s nursery. Like I mentioned before, we are tackling my sister’s nursery and are kicking everything off next week. I’m sure it’ll be a busy month preparing but I’m so excited (and honored) for the opportunity. So if I’m not grading papers or writing finals, you can probably find me knee-deep in nursery DIY… YAY! And for my fellow teachers tuning in, just think, when we chat during next month’s recap post…. we’ll be off the clock!! #almostthere #hangintherebridget_Chicago_insta-2
