Here’s what I ended up buying from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
It can be easy to want to buy all the things, especially when prices are just so good. But before shopping I promised myself that I would only buy pieces that I really needed to round out my wardrobe. Going in with a gameplan was really helpful and it definitely kept me (& my bank account!) in check.
Dark Denim Skinny Jeans
Let’s start with the item that I’ve already been wearing on repeat…these skinny jeans from Rag & Bone. I don’t have a pair of dark jeans that I absolutely love, so I knew going into the sale that those were on top of my “to buy” list.
I’ve never been one to spend much more than $75 on a pair of jeans, but I can now see why going with a higher-quality brand really is better. The fit on these Rag & Bone jeans is perfection…tight where you want it, yet stretchy enough so you can still move.
Plus the high-waist is perfect to suck it all in and allow you to bend over and move around with ease! I was a little nervous about the raw hem at the ankle and thought it would be a little too “messy.” But after putting them on, I came to love this little detail.
They still look polished with the dark wash, but the raw hem at the bottom gives them a slight edge. These jeans normally cost $198, but with the sale they’re marked way down to $132. If your size is still left, I highly recommend scooping these up!
They fit true to size for me, so just go with your normal number. They’ll be a staple in your wardrobe this fall and beyond.
I’ve always coveted Bridget’s Madewell cardigan, and when I saw this brown one at Nordstrom I immediately scooped it up. I’m wearing a medium, which fits perfectly.
It truly is one of the coziest things I’ve put on my body and I love that I can easily throw it on over just about anything like a dress, t-shirt, or blouse. My office can get really chilly, so having this cardigan on my desk chair should keep me warm and cozy when I’m working away.
There are a lot of long cardigans available at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and this one was at a higher price point than some of the others. This one for $32 is an amazing buy and this long one is another good option. Overall it looks like long cardigans are definitely a trend you’ll be seeing a lot of this fall!
Finally…let’s discuss these boots! Last year I admired everyone who was rocking over-the-knee boots throughout the cooler months. They’re just so fashion-forward and give any outfit a bit of an edge. However, I was a bit scared to pull the trigger and couldn’t find boots that I absolutely adored.
I’m so happy that I took the plunge and bought these suede boots. The gray color makes them so versatile…as I can wear them with black or brown. Plus they’re the perfect height for my legs. Not too short where the over-the-knee aspect gets lost…and not too long where they’re like thigh-highs.
In terms of sizing, I got my normal shoe size (9). I have really large calves, so I always have to be extra cautious with boots. That means no buying boots online for me. I’m happy to report that these boots fit my wide calves just fine…so if you’re in the same boat, these should work for you!
Plus the detailing on these boots really is exquisite. I will have to take some extra precautions once the snow arrives. I doubt they will hold up too well in the salt (although I’d love your recommendations if you have any tips to keep these safe from the elements!), so I’ll be strategic with the places I wear these bad boys.
But overall…I feel like a million bucks in these and with the sale they’re sooooo much more affordable. Scoop these up before they go back up to $240!
I’m really happy with my purchases and my self-control during the sale. There’s a lot of great stuff still left. Be sure to check it out soon because prices go back up on August 7th!
