Bridget & Matt Bought a House

Just when you thought last week’s baby announcement was all the breaking news I had in store this month, I’m back to report that there’s even more to celebrate. Matt and I bought a house and we closed on it this week!Bridget and Matt bought a house!

Now that it’s officially ours, I can’t wait to share ALL the details with you. Boy oh boy do we have a lot to catch up on.The new homeowners

If you can’t believe your ears (or eyes as you read this), you’re not the only one because I am also in shock at this whirlwind of life changing events that’s been happening around here. I promise this is the last piece of jaw-dropping news I have to share… hopefully for a long time because I don’t know how much more excitement (and chaos) I can handle right now.Our new place- we are so excited

After looking for a new house for almost an entire year, we finally found one that we fell in love with about a mile away from our current house. It’s a 1950’s brick ranch in our dream neighborhood and it’s dripping with potential. The house is definitely not a total fixer-upper, but it isn’t currently our style. We have a lot of work ahead of us, especially since we are trying to get as much done as we can before Baby Mak makes his or her appearance.

So What’s the Plan?Getting ready to renovate and update the new place

Some of the projects we are going to tackle before we move in (like ASAP) and some of the work we are going to put off until after the baby is born and our lives settle down a bit (ha!). I can’t wait to show you everything and share all of our plans. Paint colors, DIY to-do lists, my furniture wishlist, the BEFORE photos. I can’t wait to dive into all of it with you, starting tomorrow! Tomorrow I plan to show you the MLS photos from the house so you get a better sense of where we are starting and then where we plan to go from there.

Thank You and Hang In There!

But until then, I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your support as we navigated the crazy, frustrating, exciting, emotional roller coaster that has been our house hunt. You guys are seriously the best and your support and stories made me feel so normal in such a crazy and unexpected process. Thank you, thank you, thank you… I honestly don’t know how I got so lucky to be able to share this journey with all of you. We're ready to tackle our transformation

For my fellow house hunters still riding that emotional roller coaster, hang in there! I hated the process but in the end am so glad we held out (and lost some of the houses we did) because it led us to this opportunity. I know your dream house is out there too, waiting for the perfect time to meet you!

Now I gotta run because we have lots of mini reno to do this week so we can get to some of our first projects this weekend! AHHHH!

Bridget
