Our Favorite Cozy Long-Sleeved Shirts to Buy for Fall

It’s the beginning of October, which means that it’s that awkward time when it’s not super cold out yet, and it’s not super warm either. Sweaters don’t seem appropriate, but neither do summer dresses. Welcome to the time of long-sleeved shirts!

Every fall we like to add a few staple long-sleeved shirts to our autumn wardrobe. We always try to buy pieces that will fit with the rest of the items in our closets, so often times they’re neutral and go with everything. Occasionally we’ll throw in some stripes and a fall hue too (looking at you mustard, olive green, and maroon!). We each picked up a few new long-sleeved tops this fall, and also want to share a few we have our eyes one!ย

Thin long-sleeved shirts (like the ones we chose) are great because they can then be layered with other fall staples as the temperature dips. Throw on a leather jacket, chambray button down, or a vest…and you are good to go for the fall season!

Casey’s Favorite Long-Sleeved Shirts

I mentioned this cozy long-sleeve back in this post but wanted to bring it up again because it is just so dang good. This top is just about the softest thing I’ve put on my body and it feels like I’m wearing pajamas when I put it on.

Besides the softness, I’m obsessed with the little-knotted detail in front. I’m never good at the half-tuck look (you know what I mean…when girls can effortlessly tuck their long shirts into their jeans and look super cool and laid back?!), so this knot does the hard work for me!

For this look, I paired it with my favorite black jeans that both Bridget & I own. It’s been about a year since we both purchased these and we are still obsessed. They’re high-waisted and fit great. The ripped knees make them feel casual, but then I throw on my favorite long necklace and peep-toe booties and I’m instantly ready for a dinner on the town!

The olive green is a nice nod to fall, but I’m considering picking it up in gray, black, or maroon too. Or heck…maybe all 3?! Also, I’m wearing a medium which is TTS.

Here are a few other long-sleeved shirts I’m currently looking to add to my shopping cart.

Bridget’s Favorite Long-Sleeved Shirts

Like Casey, I have also briefly mentioned this long-sleeved shirt before, but I have to gush more about it today. Since sharing it a few weeks back we’ve gotten lots of questions and compliments about this $9 (yes, NINE DOLLAR) shirt and have heard from a lot of readers who have also bought this fall staple. ย

You guys know I’m a sucker for stripes, but add in elbow patches and I’m officially obsessed. Then add in a single digit price tag and this may just be my favorite shirt ever. Okay, I’m exaggerating just a tad but this shirt is pretty amazing for the cost.

I do want to note that it’s not fleece like Casey’s olive green shirt, but instead, this is far more polyester. I actually love that about it because I don’t have to iron it and it’s a bit looser in the mid-section. But if you’re not a fan of that material, this shirt may not be the best option for you.ย

Typically I wear an XS but with the baby on the way, I wanted this shirt to fit more loosely so I ordered a small instead. I love the fit of the small, it’s super comfy and forgiving in the mid-section without being “too big”. I paired this shirt with a vest here, but have also worn it without layers too. It can work under sweaters, with a flannel around the waist… it magically matches with almost anything fall related. Plus you can dress it up or down. ย I have also worn it with ripped jeans and a baseball cap for a lazy and super easy weekend look. Oh, and did I mention that this shirt comes in a few other colors?!

I’m a bit hesitant to buy too many long sleeve shirts since my baby bump is quickly growing, but here are some others I’m currently loving…

Here’s to our favorite season of them all!
