It has been quite a while since we’ve chatted about B’s mudroom. Let’s jog your memory with a little before and after of this space…A dark and outdated mudroom spaceA white and black mudroom with faux wood tile

Quite the transformation, right?! She painted the walls & doorsย and swapped out the flooring for a faux wood tile. So much cleaner and brighter. But since then, this space hasn’t changed much at all.

Someday she will add more storage to the mudroom and we’ll come up with a complete design plan, but the rest of the house is a priority at this point (like the big kitchen renovation…ahhhh so exciting!). However, we decided to add a little something-something to jazz up this mostly white space.

Adding Some Greenery

Greenery hung from the ceiling adds some life to this space.

We hung planters from the ceiling in the corner of this room to add a little life and greenery to the space. It was an incredibly easy DIY project and it only took us about 15 minutes to complete.ย First create a pilot hole and then twist in a hook

To show you just how simple it truly is to hang something from the ceiling, we shot a little video tutorial

This entire kit from BLACK+DECKER is a great purchase for any DIY newbies. It’s got everything you need, including a great power drill.ย  This one is lightweight, a great value, and can be used for just about any DIY project around the house.Drilling pilot holes into a wood beam to secure a hook for planters

We know that power tools can be a bit intimidating (especially when you first use one), so we’re going to try our best to continue to create videos showing you how easy to use some of our favorites are and the projects you can use these tools to complete. That way we can all baby step into the world of power tools together. Deal?!

Don’t these look so great in here? Now we just need to keep them alive, which is the hardest part of this entire DIY project. Ha!
