Design Inspiration: Pure Salon & Spa
We’re often asked where we get all of our inspiration and ideas for our DIY projects and home style. Of course Pinterest, magazines, and catalogs all play a major role in our decor ideas…but the truth is we find inspiration EVERYWHERE!
Our latest trip to the salon is the perfect example of finding inspiration in unexpected places.
As blondes we are not big fans of getting our “hair did.” It’s quite the process (foils & foils) and takes a lot of time (like 2-3 hours….seriously you non-hair colorers are sooo lucky) But when your roots are so bad that you literally have the “ombre effect” going on, you know it is time to do some hair damage control.
Now that the rookies have been reunited (more on that here) we decided to make the long beauty process a little more fun and get our hair done together.
We visited our friend’s new salon not knowing what decor inspiration awaited us…
Of course we chatted all things blog, wedding, and caught up with our friend & hair stylist Casey. But we also spent much of our time oohing and aahing at all of the creative details in Casey’s salon.
Let’s take a peek at her oh-so-comfy and welcoming salon…
Casey told us that most of the items were found at flea markets, and repurposed for the salon. That was music to our ears.
Casey & her Aunt also DIYed many of those flea market finds. This old dresser was brought to life again with some TLC and paint.
By far our favorite idea in the salon was this drop cloth accent wall. It’s featured on one wall of the massage room and serves a double duty…1. to muffle noise from the salon, so guests can truly relax. 2. to add some creativity and life to an otherwise white wall. #genius.
They simply made it using 4 drop cloths (incredibly inexpensive at any home store) and a staple gun. The texture and ruffled look makes it pop right off the wall and it certainly adds dimension and interest to the small space.
We left the salon that day grinning ear to ear. Not only was our hair looking big, blonde, and beautiful…but we had some fab new ideas to incorporate into our own spaces.
