Last weekend, we filled you in on some of our favorite fall staples from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Today we are back to chat about what we actually tried on (& how it fit) and to dish the scoop on what we actually purchased.

Plus, the sale opens to everyone today…so if you aren’t a cardholder you can finally start shopping! Woo hoo! 

Let us first say that we are not ones to buy, buy, buy! We both live in small homes with small closets, so we are very choosy on what we bring into our wardrobes. Now that we’re getting older (the big 3-0 is looming…), we’re both doing our best to invest in quality pieces instead of buying a ton of lesser quality goods just because they’re on super sale. We’re also all about building our “personal brand” (more on that here), and we want the items we wear to be “so us.” But that doesn’t mean we don’t love a good deal…and the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is just that!

So with that being said, we only purchased items we actually needed and think we’ll get A LOT of wear out of this fall.

Side Note: Clearly we are not solely fashion bloggers because we cannot get the whole 1-handed-picture-in-the-mirror thing down. It is soooo hard! Kudos to the ladies out there who know how to rock this pose. It was hilarious watching us try to angle the camera up and down and all around to get a shot that showed our face and the clothing. Yikes.

Jeans // Pink Top // Brown Leather Jacket // Black Top

I’ve been pining for a brown leather jacket for some time now and this one is too cute. I love the drapey look (reminds me of my black one) and the leather was so soft. This one is $100 off, but it’s still $199. I ended up passing because I want to try to get a leather jacket when we go to Italy  (I hear Florence is the place to stock up!), so sadly it didn’t make its way home with me. But if you are looking to splurge on a brown leather for the fall…this one is amazing!

Jeans // Cardigan // Black Top

There are lots of cardigans available on sale and I tried on a few of them. This ribbed cardigan is only $33, and it was so good. A nice neutral that will go with anything during the cooler months ahead.

Gray Sweater // Jeans

Wow, apparently flutter sleeves are all the rage this season because they were everywhere! This gray sweater was super comfy and the sleeve gives the plain neckline some extra sass.

And these jeans…holy smokes. Yes! I need a good dark wash and this pair of Rag & Bone are amazing. They’re high-waisted so you don’t have to worry when bending over, and the raw hem on the bottom is a cute detail. Plus they’re thin and stretchy, making them super comfortable. If you need a high-quality go-to pair of jeans for the fall…get these bad boys!

Leggings // Top // Sports Bra

I’m constantly wearing athleisure on the weekends and occasionally to actually work out. Ha! Because leggings are my go-to, I like to have lots of pairs on hand. These gray ones were awesome and really “sucked it all in”, if you know what I mean. Gotta love high-waisted pants that make you feel like a million bucks.

Pajamas

You know I love me some cute pajamas. Gone are the days of wearing random old t-shirts to bed. My summer pajamas are actually a part of the anniversary sale, and I’d highly recommend them. I’ve worn them just about every single night this summer and they’re on sale for $35!

But this adorable sweatshirt combo is great when the cooler temps come. Plus, who doesn’t love brunch?!

Items Bridget Tried On

Blouse // Jeans

This blouse was one I was most excited to try on in-store after seeing it online last week. I loved the color and the peplum/ruffle combo is definitely my jam. Although I was really tempted to buy it, the sleeves were a bit too wide on me. I tried on the small in this pic, but I probably would’ve benefitted from an XS so it didn’t feel like as much material. Unfortunately there weren’t any XS on the rack so I passed on this one.

Chambray Blouse // Jeans

I really loved this chambray button-up because it was so comfy and is super versatile. The peplum style bottom makes this classic a bit more feminine. I have a long torso so finding shirts that are peplum, yet still long enough to wear out and about is hard for me. This one totally passed the test and seems like it would be a great fall staple for both work and weekend!

Blazer // Jeans // Tee // Necklace

A blush blazer has been on my shopping list ever since Casey bought hers! I love how versatile they are all year round so when I saw this one I was SO excited! If you’re in the game for a blazer you should definitely consider this one (it comes in other colors too!) BUT I would definitely suggest sizing down one or two sizes. I’m wearing a small here and I really, really wish they had smaller sizes available because I would have definitely purchased it. Love the cut and color!

Cardigan // T-shirt // Necklace

I’m all about long cardigans in the fall/winter and this one is SO good! The patchwork and stripes make it a versatile layer. It’s soft and lays really nicely. I was a big fan, so much so that I brought one home with me! 

Lace Blouse (ivory) // Jeans // Booties (on sale too!)

This blouse is by far one of my favorite finds of the Nsale. I bought it in ivory (although there is a blush color available) and I am seriously obsessed. The lace look makes it perfect for nights out on the town, but it fits and feels more like a t-shirt. The sleeves and torso are not skin-tight and slightly flowy like a t-shirt would fit, which is perfect on those nights you order extra dessert. I have already worn this shirt and plan on wearing it all fall by pairing it with my favorite leather jacket or a blazer.

Dress (comes in 2 other colors)

I loved this jersey-knit dress because it feels like you’re wearing an oversized t-shirt, yet you can rock this dress both during the week and on weekends. The ruffle sleeves add a bit of feminine detail without being over-the-top. I think this dress layered with a long cardigan and booties would be so cute (and super versatile) in the fall. One fit tip is that this dress definitely runs loose in the mid section. I’m wearing a small here. I liked the fit of the XS better, but wasn’t in love with the XS’s length — a little too short for my 5’5″ frame.

Dress // Necklace

I tried this dress on for work and really loved the fit. I’m all about a high-neck and sleeves on just about everything I wear, especially dresses. The material is soft like a sweatshirt, but thick so it feels a bit more dressy and appropriate for the workplace. Plus there’s subtle detailing on the material making it seem less casual. Oh and did I mention this has POCKETS?!! 

Sweatshirt // Amazing high-waisted yoga pants

I think this may be the softest sweatshirt ever. And let’s be honest… fries before guys is always a good idea, right?! If you’re looking for a graphic crew neck sweatshirt, definitely consider this fun option!

Jeans

I’m wearing the same jeans throughout the entire time in the dressing room because they were so amazing! I don’t need new jeans, so I passed on this pair. But if you are looking for some, you should DEFINITELY check these out. I loved the fit, especially because they were high-rise and I felt like I could comfortably move all around (and sit) without worrying about skin showing.
