Heading to Haven 2014

Right now, these 2 rookies are on our way down south..to ATLANTA!

We’re on our way to a home decor and DIY conference called Haven. It’s a 2-day conference where bloggers come from all over the country to get together and learn about blogging, DIY, and trends in the home genre. We’re guessing a blog conference doesn’t sound like much fun to you. But to us….it’s pretty darn magical! We actually went to Haven last August and had a wonderful time (more on last year’s trip right here.) Not only did we get to mingle with some fellow bloggers, but we learned how to be better bloggers here at DIY Playbook. Much of what we learned last year, we’ve put into practice here on the ol’ blog. The knowledge we gained from those couple days really helped us take DIY Playbook to the next level. When we found out that the conference would be back again this summer….we immediately signed up!

This year we’re lucky enough to have our trip sponsored by the wonderful folks at HireAHelper. HireAHelper is a company that helps you compare and book moving labor so you, the valued customer, gets the best bang for your buck… something we take extra serious here on the DIY Playbook. Casey used this company when she moved back to Chicago, and we have been huge fans ever since! We specifically love their emphasis on the “Hybrid Move”… a type of move that falls somewhere in between having a moving service do EVERYTHING and having a moving service do NOTHING. You, the customer, get to pick exactly how much professional help you need throughout your move so that you aren’t wasting money on services that you can do yourself throughout the process. They cater to the individual customer and make the process as user-friendly and hassle free as possible- two components that are extremely important on such an important day!

We heart this company so much that we’ve even joined their team as weekly contributors over on the HireAHelper blog. We’ve had a blast writing about everything and anything that comes along with the moving process. Like…When’s the Best Time to Move?, How to Stage your Home to Sell, and even some more DIY based posts like 7 Lucky Tips to Garage Sale Shopping. The team at HireAHelper is amazing, and they see the value in what we do here on DIY Playbook. As you can tell…we’re pretty big fans of them, and we feel very lucky to represent them at the conference!

So enough chatter…it’s time for our mini vacay! Be sure to check out our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts to follow along on our Haven journey.

PS. Even though we’re out of town, we still have some fun planned here on Playbook for tomorrow. Tune in to see the beginning stages of a secret mission Casey & I recently tackled… a patio makeover for some very special people.ย
