Last week’s Blogger Stylin’ Home Tour- WOW, do we have a lot to talk about. Did you guys see the amazing fall-inspired homes of some of these bloggers? We loved waking up each morning to see the new round of homes to check out. Are we complete nerds if we say that was the highlight of our day?! Wait…. on second thought…. don’t answer that!If you missed Bridget’s Home Tour last week, you can check it out here. A fellow DIY Playbook reader commented on how she liked how B was able to “create a mood” for fall and it was a total AH-HA! Moment for us. What a GENIUS statement because she was so right. Bridget didn’t buy one single pumpkin or trendy fall decor piece at the local craft stores, so her home tour wasn’t (and isn’t) traditional “fall”. However, the colors, the textures, the art are definitely different than the usual, so we thought “creating a mood” for fall was just so fitting.
After we both thought about it & chatted about this brilliant comment, we realized that’s exactly what we are all about. Of course some staple decorations are fun, but let’s be real… neither of us have the space or money to buy up the gorgeous aisle of fall (or even Christmas) decor to completely change our homes each season. So from now on, we aren’t going to stress about fall-ifying or going hardcore Christmas in our homes. We are going to strive to “Create a Mood” that gets us excited for the season & makes us look at our homes just a little different for the time being. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Ms. Thriftress. Your simple comment really got us thinking!!
Now, onto the FUN part… our Highlight Reel from the tour. Wow, picking our favs to share with you was HARD! There was so much inspiration and so many great ideas that caught our eye.

Now THIS is how you do a fall makeover!! We loved that Julia showed us (literally) step-by-step how she transformed her gorgeous living room for fall. Her ability to mix & match layers, textures and prints is unlike anything we’ve seen on the blogosphere. Her combos are so UNIQUE and continually give us the courage to step outside our comfort zone to take more decor risks. We don’t know how she does it!! If you haven’t seen her amazing eye for design… you have to check it out.
This porch…… let’s all just daydream about it for a few seconds. I mean seriously, could you even imagine waking up to enjoy your morning coffee in this charming space?! It’s probably better off we don’t have one of these amazing spaces, we may never make it to work if we did!! Beth knocks this one out of the park with her neutral tones with pops of our favorite subdued blues. We especially love the white pumpkins she used to finish off the space for fall. And geez, if you are as obsessed with this porch as we are…. you can’t even imagine what awaits inside.
Excuse us while we continue to crush on one of our all-time favorite bloggers, Michelle from Iron & Twine. We are being completely sincere when we say anything (literally everything) she puts on her blog immediately belongs on the pages of Better Homes & Gardens. We just don’t know how she does it, but we need to start begging her to teach us her ways immediately! Oh, and she managed to complete her g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s home tour while expecting two little pumpkins herself, TWINS! This blogging all-star will be welcoming a baby boy & baby girl this month!!
Summer rocked it with her fall home tour. Her bright, airy space with hints of cozy fall is right up our alley! We are especially LOVING her plate wall and are super inspired to try our hand at a plate wall in the near future…. hmmmmmmmmm. Plus, this chalkboard wall in the kitchen?! Can we just move in already?
Ding, Ding, Ding… Desert Domicile wins the award for “Best Smelling Home Tour”. By placing coffee beans in this fabulous Nate Berkus plate from Target and topping it off with a candle, she has created a coffee scented table piece that will be sure to remind you of fall. We love this simple idea and will be incorporating it into our own homes ASAP! Thanks Caitlin!!
Nope this isn’t a picture from a travel magazine…this is Anneke’s front porch. Jealous much?! We know we are. Now this is the real way to enjoy the season…lounging seaside, snuggled under a textured blanket, sipping some cider. The great outdoors doesn’t get much better than this! Anneke, we’re coming to visit!
Kristin wow-ed us again this month with her Fall home tour. Her living room is insanely gorgeous…so glamorous and high-end, yet still comfortable and inviting. We love this mix of textures and finishes, and I’m pretty certain we would gladly curl up and read a book on that sofa of hers.
And last but very not least, how could we not mention the gracious and super talented host of the #BloggerStylingHomeTour Series? Lindsay has such a unique style & makes these two non-hippies totally want to convert to Team Hippie. But then we quickly remember that Lindsay makes this electic style look easy… I’m sure if we tried it in our homes, we wouldn’t be able to pull it off nearly as well as her. (That rug though…. wow!)
So there you have it, the highlights from last week’s fall home tour. We hope you enjoyed all of the eye candy that this little blog hop had to offer.
