Everything But the House

Here on the blog, we always try to drill in the idea that you don’t need to buy NEW items for your home to make it look beautiful. In fact, we highly discourage that. We’re all about mixing old, new, high-end, low-end, and DIY projects in order to achieve a layered look that is personal to you! One of our favorite ways to incorporate those vintage items is through estate sales. Yep, if we had all of the time in the world we would spend just about every weekend hitting up neighborhoods for estate sales. But let’s be real here, we don’t have nearly as much time to devote to shopping as we’d like. So our estate sale days are few & far between…

Lucky for us, there’s a company that makes estate sale shopping a heck of a lot easier. Like click-of-a-button easier. We introduced you guys to Everything But The House back in this post, but let’s refresh your memory. EBTH is an auction site selling unique pieces from estate sales all across the country. With 50-60 sales a month, and items always starting at just $1…there’s always something new to discover! Right now they’re in a variety of cities across the country, but if they’re not in your market you can still shop away and have items shipped directly to your door.

chicagoWe are super excited because Everything But the House is now in Chicago! So that means we can buy items online and pick them up right here in town. Cue our playbook happy dance!

Since we found out about the expansion we’ve spent the last few weeks perusing all of theย  sales…

If anything caught your eye, it’s your lucky day! We’re giving away a $50 credit to Everything But the House to one reader. Just leave a comment and let us know what you’d scoop up with the winnings, and enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. Get ready to shop til you drop!

Next week we’ll be back with an item we recently purchased from a Chicago area sale. We can’t wait to show off our find. Until then…

I’m looking to create a gallery wall of vintage portraits, so $50 would help with that, though the VW bus under $5k is soooo tempting haha

  • What a fun concept… it is probably a good thing there aren’t any active sales in LA right now. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I would love the outdoor wicker sofa — working on updating the backyard this summer and THAT would be an awesome addition to the space.

  • I’d try to put together a writing desk/fun mirror combo as a vanity for the bedroom!

I have been searching high and low for the PERFECT bar cart, and I would definitely be willing to dive to Chicago just to find one (or just pay for shipping)! We don’t have a ton of options here in Springfield unfortunately.

    • OHhhh this could be the answer to your bar cart dreams!
