Maggie’s FULL Condo Tour

Bridget & CaseySeptember 25, 2015 Comments

Stick a fork in it… Maggie’s Condo Makeover is officially D-O-N-E (heck, we don’t know much about cooking but we do know that this makeover process is probably a tad overcooked at this point). Although the condo has come a LONG way since Maggie first bought it, the whole process took a little longer than we expected. Waiting on furniture to be delivered, waiting on the built-ins to be built & installed, waiting on the finishing touches to come together, poor Maggie was always waiting patiently for the next project to be completed. And now, she can officially kick us OUT, sit back, relax, and finally enjoy a space that is not only gorgeous, but more importantly, reflects her style.

Here’s a COMPLETE recap of what we tackled in Maggie’s #MagMileMakeover series. To read more details about each space, click on the room for full details or a complete source list…. or you can check out the whole house tour here!

Kitchen Makeover (All the kitchen details here)

This super dramatic kitchen makeover was our first project in Maggie’s makeover series and is still one of our favorites. The new white cabinets + new Hickory Hardware + sleek open shelving = a big win in our playbook!

Family Room Makeover (Full Makeover here)

Can we move in?! We are obsessed with just about everything in this room. The colors, the couch, the mirror, the accessories…. {heart eyes on repeat}. For a full tour & source list of this room, check out this post.

New Built-ins (more detailed gushing about the built-ins here)

The most STUNNING before/after award of this condo makeover definitely goes to Maggie’s new built-ins. The longest, most-delayed before/after award of this condo makeover will also go to Maggie’s new built-ins. Maggie hired someone to build this shelving unit and WOW, what a HUGE impact this piece has on the entire space…. it was totally worth the wait! We love this project so much that Casey is in the process of getting a similar unit built for her new place!

Bedroom Makeover (Take the Full Bedroom Tour here)

We really love Maggie’s neutral yet girly bedroom makeover. The unique approach on the traditional board & batten wall is definitely a highlight for us, especially paired with the gallery wall around the TV. This room is “so Maggie” — mission accomplished!

Bathroom Makeover (Full Bathroom Tour here)

The pictures don’t do this small space any justice! Since there wasn’t any natural light in the bathroom, photographing this room was tough but that didn’t stop us. This bathroom makeover proves that the bathroom can be functional and fashionable without spending a ton of money.

Maggie beforemaggie bathroomEntry Refresh

Even tiny spaces can be refreshed!! Take Maggie’s 17 inch entryway for example, we didn’t have much room to work with but we still made it happen. A simple drop zone can keep you organized while ensuring you never lose those keys again.

Balcony & View (check out this view!)

And last but very not least, what’s a city condo without a spectacular view + balcony? This DIY outdoor rug cost us less than $20 and completely transformed the space without breaking the bank. Now that Maggie’s DIY homework is all done, hopefully she will have plenty of time to drink coffee & enjoy the views!

Happy Homeowner

What a trooper Maggie has been throughout this entire process! She has been nothing but overly grateful, super supportive, and so much fun to work with. But above all, Maggie is HAPPY and proud of her new place, which makes us REALLY happy and super proud of her!

Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

  • Heather

I love how her place turned out! And, hey, how often can you call an ENTIRE home DONE?! I feel like it is a never ending project, so awesome for her to be able to enjoy! Now don’t you want to help me plan my nursery?!?!?!?! 🙂

    • How exciting!! Congratulations!!! We’d love to see how it turns out…. what a fun space to work on!

  • Andrea Pepe

Neutrals on the walls and then add pops of color with pillows, rugs, picture frames, art etc…that way if you get sick of it or want to mix things up, you aren’t stuck painting again….lesson learned big time when I thought ‘wasabi’ was a good kitchen color.

  • Ashley Sorrick

I can’t get over how beautiful her condo turned out! I’m ready to get y’all to come to FL and redo our whole house!

  • Nikki Simmerson

I love it! Maggie, congratulations! I’m sure you’re thrilled!!!

  • Mila

    use that balcony!

    • Cheers to that!! With that view, how could she not?!

  • H Buchanan

Just enjoy it! I’m sure the whole process has been quite the adventure, embrace it!

  • The best advice I have is to live with it a little while before making any major changes/renovations. There were projects that we really wanted to tackle at the beginning, but after living in the house for a year, we found that those changes wouldn’t really work for us. Congrats on a gorgeous new home! 🙂

    • We could not agree more with this piece of advice!!! We definitely feel this same way about our homes! Thanks Sarah.

  • Erin

just the built ins. i want some now!!! and yes agree about the balcony. it’s amazing just having a small piece of outdoor space

  • Kate

Advice: be generous with your space! After finally flying the coop and getting my own space, I spent too much time getting it “perfect” and trying to “settle in.” I’m sad at the time I wasted alone when I could have been hosting/entertaining/letting someone crash who needed a place to stay. I love my space more for the memories that have been created here than for the atmosphere I’ve built on my own–don’t fall into the trap of trying to enjoy it by yourself!

    • YESSSSSS!! And spot on— we love this advice for a new homeowner, something we too could be better at too!

  • Maggie: Make your bedroom an oasis and tech free. My bedroom is my favorite place to relax and unwind. 🙂
Also, hug those built-in cabinets daily. They are so pretty!!!

    • OMG… what a great idea!! We could definitely get better at this =/

  • Nadia Button

Maggie: I would say that is important to invite people into your home. Let it be a place where you can host others and show them how much you appreciate them in your life!

  • Thanks so much Iris!

  • Thanks Brandi. We love them too.

  • Yes! Getting into a bed with rumpled sheets at night just isn’t the same is it?!

  • Karen

    It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

    • We can definitely relate to that! Great advice, Karen… thanks for sharing!

  • Wow! You did an INCREDIBLE job! I love it!

  • What a gorgeous transformation! But just because it looks perfect now (and it really does!) don’t be afraid to let your style evolve as you move through different life transitions! Enjoy!
    And great job, B&C (&M!)

    • OMG — obsessed with this advice!! SO. DARN. TRUE!

  • PAM

Enjoy it. Have friends over to help enjoy it

    • Any excuse to have people over is a good one, right?!

  • Lynn Dee

Wow! What a pretty place! I absolutely love it. Good job, girls!

  • Ashley

Love it! Everything looks so great, and I really enjoyed seeing how it all came along. I really like that it took a little longer, because I think you learn so much about your home and your needs as you’re living in it. Definitely agree with all the comments about inviting people in: show it off a little bit 😉 Plus entertaining is just so fun! Great job girls 🙂

    • Thanks so much, Ashley!! And you’re so sweet.. thanks for your words of encouragement.

  • Ashley

GORGE! I don’t have any advice for Maggie other than to enjoy. It’s a beautiful transformation and congrats on home ownership!

  • Kelsey Gardner

AMAZING! It’s so incredible how you transformed the place

  • My advice: ENJOY IT. And show it off. But really, enjoy having a space that is so “you”. Our house is done-ish (no major projects on the horizon but always lots of little decorating changes) and it’s so lovely to spend my time in a space that looks and feels and is home. I dread moving for many reasons, but one is that we’d be starting from scratch which can be exciting but also work. So enjoy having a done-ish space.

    • Yes. Yes. and Yes!! Love this advice, thanks for sharing Diana!!

  • Amanda

This is such a great adorable place! Enjoy it, and show it off!!

  • Delighted Dwelling

It’s so perfect ladies!!! Awesome job!!!

  • Oh my goodness, it’s freaking amazing! I LOVE the new wall colours especially!

  • Jody Hon

What a beautiful space to call home, enjoy it!!

  • Meaghan

It looks so beautiful! The mirror in the living room is especially cool. I really like the board and battan wall and the built-ins as well. My advice is try to use coasters as much as possible to protect coasters!

  • kathy v

my advice is to enjoy your place

  • Awww …. too darn sweet! We would LOVEEE to see it at the end. We have never met a built-in we haven’t loved. =)

  • It looks amazing! The built ins are perfect, and I’m totally envious of them.

  • Karen

Everything is beautiful, enjoy your new space and don’t spend all your time trying to make things perfect – enjoy the space with family and friends!
    Karen

  • Amy

This is so cute! Talk about #apartmentgoals…

My advice: clean a little each day so you don’t have to tackle it all at once!

  • This is nice. I like the white color and the soft accents. Very relaxed feeling.

  • Katie

My advice would be to enjoy the fact its ALL DONE! and beautiful 🙂 So nice not to have lingering projects.

  • Thanks Donna. There’s not a whole lot to the story other than the fact that we like the neutral color of the pages better than the bold spine colors in this specific space. We could go out and buy neutral colored books, but it seemed more realistic to use the books Maggie already had just flip them around for a more neutral/uniform look. Who knows though, she can always change them around to fit a different look (maybe for the holidays when she brings more bright color in the space!). Hope that gives you a little insight!! =)
