Our Favorite Festive Wrapping Paper

Wrapping gifts. We certainly can’t claim to be the best at it (anyone else suck at getting neat corners?!), but we will gladly admit that we love to create pretty packages to put under the Christmas tree.

Back before our blogging days, we both used to just wrap gifts with whatever we had around the house. This was a good way to use up old wrapping paper, but it meant we had a lot of random gifts in all kinds of colors. Now we try to buy wrapping paper, tags, and ribbon that go well together. That way our gifts truly represent us and our style.

You know we’re all about figuring out your personal style, and we truly think that someone should receive a gift from you and totally know it’s from you because of the wrapping and thoughtful touches! So we try our best to make our holiday gifts an extension of our style.

Plus, packages can act like holiday decor under the Christmas tree! If you have them coordinate with your holiday decorations that are already up in the house, it will just make your entire house feel that much more festive!

If you’re looking to up your wrapping game this year, here are some of our favorite wrapping papers, ribbons, and gift tags!

You can’t go wrong with plain Kraft paper for your gifts. We love this as a neutral base so you can then add pretty ribbon and tags to really jazz it up!

Add Some Extra Touches

With the paper, ribbon, and tag all squared away you can take it one step further! We always buy a few extra things to tuck into the ribbon of our packages.

Clusters of faux berries (like in our plaid Dream Tree), faux greenery, and even cinnamon sticks can help take your gift to the next level.  Just stock up on some of these extras at Michaels and add them to gifts that need a little extra something!

We also still love the idea of a DIY monogram on plain paper! You can read more on that technique in this holiday post

Oh and don’t forget to check out this post on how to tie the perfect bow! It truly takes practice, and Casey’s mom is the ultimate bow master!

It’s not too late to stock up on some pretty new gift wrap for this season’s presents (unless you’re already all done wrapping, in which case…you are a rockstar!)

For everyone else, we know this can sometimes be a tedious (& boring) task, but hopefully, you can enjoy this time to create beautiful and special gifts for the people you love.

  • Very inspiring! My goal is to NOT be up until midnight wrapping gifts this Christmas Eve, as in years past, so this post is a good reminder to start tackling the wrapping little by little over the next few weeks! #wrappinggoals! I️ am even going to attempt some bow-making using Jan’s tutorial!

    • Jan would be so proud, Kerri! haha! You got this, girl.

  • Trang

I used to save old Christmas cards that I liked and cut them into tags with some personalization. Over the years, I’ve gotten rather lazy and just put generic tag stickers on my gifts. Lol. I’ll try and do a better job this year!

    • That is such a good idea, Trang! So resourceful!

    • Jackie B

      I do that too!

    • You ladies are so creative!

  • Wrapping presents is one of my favorite Christmas prep things! And learning to coordinate my paper is one of the best things I’ve learned from you girls!

    • You are too sweet, Diana! And good for you for enjoying the task!

  • Lauren J

The personalized gift tags are GENIUS!

    • Right?! We had never seen those before. Love the idea!
