Heading Out On Maternity Leave

Good morning, friends! I’m popping on here quickly to let you know that my maternity leave officially starts today! I want to leave you with one final blog post to let you know the “gameplan” for the next few months.

When Will You Be Back?

Heading out on maternity leave 2021

I won’t be going back to my regularly scheduled four blog posts a week until January 2022. I will likely start back on Monday, January 10th, 2022. However, I will have a few blog posts here and there in November and December.

I always have so much fun putting our Annual Gift Guide together and I got a good start on this year’s big project before Ellis arrived. That will debut on Monday, November 15th. (That’s one week earlier than usual because I want you to have time to shop for the holidays!)

I’m also planning a few end-of-the-year recap blog posts and my annual reader survey for mid-December. Other than that, I might pop in here and there, but let’s not count on it! I may pop in on Instagram stories, so make sure you’re following me over there for a behind-the-scenes look at our new life as a family of four.

I’m really grateful for my assistant, Lindsey, who will be manning the ship while I’m away so I can just concentrate on our home life.

What About Baby Content?

This is, first and foremost, a home and DIY blog and that won’t be changing. I will share the scoop about our life, just as I always have, here on the blog.

Rory’s face cracks us up in this photo!

In January, after my maternity leave, you can expect my birth story, tips for a c-section (whoa, I have lots to share!), a post about how we’re really using the nursery, a look into our lives with two babies under two, and more. But don’t worry, home and DIY will still dominate the content around here.

Thank You, Friends!

Heading out on maternity leave

I am so grateful for this amazing community of readers who uplift me, and one another, constantly. So many of you have checked in with me over the past few weeks to make sure I’m feeling good and a few of you even sent baby gifts our way. What did we do to deserve you?

I am so blessed to have support from readers all over the world. Thank you for always sending your good vibes and prayers to the Finn family.

Snuggling baby Ellis

Now, it’s time to go snuggle sweet Ellis and enjoy every moment of life as a mom of a newborn.

Bonus…Baby Dance Video!

If you missed it on social, Finn and I created another dance video to document this pregnancy. We did this just about every week during Rory’s pregnancy and it was fun to watch my bump grow while the nursery evolved. (You can view the video right here. For some reason, it went viral on YouTube and the comments section cracks me up. Some people are convinced Rory is a “fake baby”. Say what?!)

This most recent pregnancy video was much harder, having a wiggly Rory running around, who did not want to be a part of our project. But it was still fun to try! You can view it below or watch it over on YouTube here.
