Welcome to the New and Improved DIY Playbook Website

You may notice that things look a little different around here. Yepโ€ฆwe completely revamped the entire DIY Playbook website. Pop the champagne!ย

We cannot even begin to tell you how thrilled we are to have a clean and upgraded site. Weโ€™ve been wanting to overhaul things for quite some time, and we are thrilled that the day is finally here.

Itโ€™s hard to believe that it has been over 3 years since we debuted the previous looking site. That setup definitely served us well over the past 3 years, but it was time for an upgrade. As The DIY Playbook has evolved, weโ€™ve really been focusing on our branding and want to make sure that it is consistent, classic, and โ€œso usโ€! Getting rid of the sporty theme and navy/turquoise color scheme was long overdue.

At the beginning of every year, we sit down and set goals for the next 12 months. The #1 thing on this yearโ€™s list was to really focus on branding and to overhaul our website, mobile site, and the overall look of The DIY Playbook. ย As we get older (oh man the big 3-0 is creeping up very quickly…), we’ve really come into ourselves and now feel much more confident with our personal styles and home styles. We both find ourselves drawn to neutral colors, black and white, and timeless looks. We wanted the new look of The DIY Playbook to represent that.

We worked with the team at Roundhouse Designs to create our new site and absolutely loved working with them. They are very familiar with the blogosphere and have created some of our favorite bloggersโ€™ sites, so we knew they were a perfect fit for us. We’re not gonna lie…this process was a long one. In fact we’ve been working on this since early this year, so it has been quite a few months in the making. The poor team at Roundhouse had no clue what they were getting into when they took us on as clients. We are very type-A and they received countless emails from us with specific changes and requests throughout this process. Luckily they were incredibly patient with us and kept us at ease throughout the entire re-design.

But enough backstory…let’s get to the new site. Here are some tips to navigate.

Top of the Website

Up here you will find your main navigation. Clicking The DIY Playbook logo on the left will always bring you back to the homepage. Then if you click on one of the top categories, a drop down will appear.

This is where you can look at things organized in their categories. If you want to find all of our old “Happy Hour” posts, there is an entire tab for that. Our our videos…you can see them all together here. Hopefully it’s a way for everyone to navigate the site a little bit easier.

But if you want to find a post quickly you can always search. Which brings us to…

The Search Bar

Type in just about anything on the right search bar and click on the little magnifying glass to enter. Then all of those posts that may have to do with that particular topic will come up. We actually use this a lot when linking to old posts or trying to find old content we’ve written. Definitely comes in handy!

About Us

You can find our about section at the top of the page or on our sidebar by clicking our headshot. It was time for a new and improved about us page and we are absolutely loving this updated one. Come take a look and take a look at our new “We Believe” section. You can also click here to learn a little bit about us individually.

Home Tours

If you want to take a look at our home tours, you can simply click home tour at the top which will take you to a page with both of our home tours. From there you can click through to check out one of our homes.

Contact

You’ll find our contact page either at the footer at the bottom of the website, or on our sidebar right under our headshot. Of course you can always email us at [email protected], but if you want to use the contact form we respond to emails there as well!

Subscription

Our daily newsletter has been a hot mess for years! Legit embarrassing. It’s been on our to-do list for a long time to finally clean this up. If you want to get a notification in your inbox every time there is a new post up, then be sure to subscribe to the blog. You can do that by hitting the subscription button at the footer of the website, or on the sidebar. Or simply click this button right here to sign up!

We are also starting a monthly newsletter that will have behind-the-scenes content, our favorite shoppable items, and some of our favorite posts from the month. If you subscribe, you’ll automatically receive this monthly email. So we urge you to be an insider and stay up to date with everything we have going on!

Shop

This is another area that was a bit of a mess on our old site. Can you tell that we like things clean and organized?! Ha. If you click on the “shop” button at the top of the website, you will be taken to a page where you can shop from 4 categories. Bridget’s House, Casey’s House, Our Favorites, and our Print Shop! We will be updating our favorites frequently, so be sure to regularly check this page out.

Best of the Blog

Finally, at the bottom of the site we reserved a special section for some of our absolute favorite posts. It’s easy for us to write a post and then for it to get lost amongst the thousands of posts we have (seriously we are at about 1,200 now!) Now we have 6 categories where you can see some of our favorite posts of all time.

THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for all of your love and support over the years. You are why we keep on going with The DIY Playbook and we are so grateful your your endless encouragement as we write this blog everyday.

Bridget & Casey

P.S. There may be a few kinks to work out this week as the blog gets finalized! Please bear with us as we get things up and running around here.
