Mother’s Day Gift Idea

It’s not time to get into panic mode…. not yet at least. You have plenty of time until Mother’s Day, and this post isn’t designed to get you all stressed. This post is merely designed to give you some ideas (well in advance) so that if you choose to DIY a gift, you have PLENTY of time to make it happen.

Mothers Day Gift BasketLet’s chat about spoiling the women in our lives, ya know… those women who have the HARDEST, most DEMANDING, SELFLESS, TIME-CONSUMING job in the whole entire world– our moms. Moms, grandmas, aunts, soon-to-be moms, we need to spoil all of them with lots of extra relaxation this Mother’s Day because heck, there is no one that deserves some extra R&R quite like this group of amazing women. We are continually in awe at how our moms work TIRELESSLY, yet make it look easy (and even fun!). How do they do it?! We may never know. All we know is that today’s DIY is a simple (and affordable) way to help give these amazing women the extra nudge (because yes, these selfless people need lots of extra nudges) to treat themselves for a change.

A stay-at-home spa. It’s easy… we promise!

flowersWe hit up our local HomeGoods to create a one-stop-shopping spa in a basket for our moms to enjoy while having a relaxing evening to themselves! We think this could also be a perfect gift for a new mom or even a soon-to-be-mom. We love this idea because it doesn’t have to break the bank (not that we wouldn’t break the bank for our moms), it’s easy, it’s quick, and it shows these women that you put in time and effort for them.

Here’s what we included in our “stay-at-home” spa:

– Towel
– Towelette
– Candle
– Relaxation Tea
– Fresh Lemon
– Soap Dispenser of Lotion
– Glass Water Container
– Basket
– Wood Accessory
– Card

teaWe bought everything in this package from HomeGoods (well, except for the fresh lemon). We hope that this collection of items encourages the recipient to relax and splurge on herself.

mother's day gift basketOther items we saw at HomeGoods that we think could be a fun addition to this at home spa collection:

– Wine glass
– Wine stopper
– Bottle Opener
– Nail polish
– Journal

mother's day basketOr you can add:

– Gift card for mani/pedi, facial or actual “spa” day
– Bottle of wine (or two)

Mothers Day Gift Basket

Of course this basket is something small and doesn’t nearly express the endless gratitude and admiration we have for our moms. But it’s the thought that counts. And we’re thinking that this easy, functional, and affordable gift is just what the doctor ordered for all of the amazing mothers out there.

As for you daughters (or sons) tuning in, don’t get too wrapped up in the idea of R&R…. you have approximately one month to prep your pampering plan!

PS. Here are a few other DIY projects we think could make the perfect Mother’s Day Gift:

Framed Family Recipes
DIY Wordle Art <– fan favorite for the sentimental types.
Gifts our moms love that you DON’T have to DIY
L-O-V-E Framed Art (a letter for each child/grandchild)
…. plus we have more to come before the “big day”.
