Today’s review is based on a topic I get a lot of questions about — the rugs in our home. How do I like them? How are they holding up? Where did I get each one? Would I recommend them to others?
Today I figured it would be helpful to create a one-stop shopping resource that answers ALL of these questions. Plus, I figured a rug review post like this will help others feel more confident if they are purchasing one of these rugs. Rugs are an investment so any honest feedback is helpful, right?
Family Room Rug (11 out of 10)
We have had the 12×15 size in our family room for just over a year and a half, and I would buy a back-up to store for the day I need a new one. I just love it that much.
Dining Room Rug (9.5 out of 10)
Kitchen Runner (9.5 out of 10)
In terms of having a vintage runner in the kitchen, I’m extremely happy with it so far. To be perfectly honest, we’ve had our fair share of spills and splatters on this rug (coffee, red sauce, lots of crumbs!) and this rug’s bold colors do an amazing job of hiding everything.
If I were to make this decision again, I would do the exact same thing. And I even think I’m a forever member of “Team Bold Runner in the Kitchen”. Having a runner in the kitchen hasn’t been nearly as worrisome or fragile as I anticipated. In fact, I’d say it’s been just the opposite!
Master Bedroom Rug (9 out of 10)
The colors are a bit bolder at night but not as bold as the website suggests (which is a question I get every single time we post this. It just looks soooo vibrant online and less so in person). I scored this rug as a 9 out of 10 because the rug itself is very thin. It’s extremely soft on your feet but it’s very thin so I wouldn’t recommend putting it on the ground without a rug pad in certain areas (like a playroom, kids’ bedroom, etc.). If you don’t need it to be thick (like in our bedroom), the thinness shouldn’t matter as much.
I also like the busy pattern because it’s very forgiving. I accidentally spilled my blush set on the floor, where the entire thing shattered into a ton of tiny pieces. Then I proceeded to vacuum it up, which made the problem so much worse (pink blush stains everywhere!). Long story short, no one would ever be able to tell thanks to a lot of scrubbing and the busy pattern. #thankgoodness
Nursery Rug (10 out of 10)
Mudroom Runner (8 out of 10)
Overall, I’m extremely happy with ALL of the rugs in our house. Each one is a bit different, but all of them were relatively affordable (considering any rug is an investment and I needed a few really large ones). I don’t anticipate changing any of them any time soon, which proves how much I truly enjoy each one. Plus, all of them have been very forgiving to life’s “accidents”.
Bottom line, if you’re eyeing one of these rugs, I would highly recommend any of them! And I hope this rug review was helpful for you because I know that rug shopping can be tough. If you need help figuring out what size rug you need for your space, this post has all of the details and insight.
