Maggie’s Bedroom REVEAL

FINALLY… we are sharing the last room of Maggie’s Chicago Condo makeover! We’ll skip the small talk so we can jump right into her bright & beautiful bedroom.

{Insert lots and lots and lots of heart-eye emojis here} We are officially in LOVEEEEEEE!! The board & batten, the gallery wall around the TV, the colors, the pops of gold…. we heart all of it…. A LOT. ย Heck, there’s just so much to catch up on…. we don’t even know where to start!!
Maggie BedroomB’s dad tackled the board and batten wall using the same method we used in B’s bedroom and her hallway. However instead of a traditional board & batten look, we decided to space out the bottom boards and add additional boards on the top. This design just seemed a little less traditional and a tad more fitting for this classic yet feminine space. I think the white board & batten wall really complements the tufted headboard and gray wall (paint color: Benjamin Moore San Antonio Gray).

Just like Maggie’s living room, we did a lot of the shopping at Wayfair. Both the headboard and the chair were Wayfair finds and shipped directly to Maggie’s place, which was super convenient. AND both were super simple to put together… major bonus points in our playbook.

Maggie Pillow Headboard goldAfter we got the wall + headboard completed, we brainstormed what direction we wanted to go ย for the comforter and pillow combo. We knew we wanted a “clean” and neutral look in order to make the focal point the wall, rather than the textiles.

After lots of looking, we settled on a white clearance duvet from West Elm, paired with these adorable white crochet pillows from HomeGoods, and topped it off with a $7 gold clearance pillow from Target. The gray clearance blanket for the bottom of the bed is also from West Elm — love the hints of geometric it brings. ย Key word in almost all of those items: Clearance. Bedding can be EXPENSIVE and we wanted to prove to Maggie that she didn’t have to break the bank to get a cozy + chic look.
Maggie Bedroom Gallery WallNow let’s chat about our favorite part of the room. This dang gallery wall has been the part that has been holding up this entire room. Of course it took some time to find a collection of art and frames that were “so Maggie” but actually that wasn’t the part that was delaying this makeover. The TV was actually the culprit. Before Maggie’s built-ins were done, she was using the (smaller) TV from her bedroom out in her family room. We couldn’t set up the gallery wall in her room until the TV was back in her room, which couldn’t happen until the built-ins were installed and she bought a larger TV to hang in the living room. Follow all that?! Bottom line: Once the TV was back in the bedroom, we immediately got to work hanging the gallery wall so that we could FINALLY be done with this series (and out of Maggie’s hair!).

We’ll be back tomorrow with more details/sources on the gallery wall. We just love how the TV isn’t as much of an “eye sore” with the gallery wall surrounding it. Plus, the art covering the wall is “so Maggie”, which makes us love the whole look even more.

Antlers Good Vibes Only Maggie Gallery WallGood Vibes Only. <– What a great reminder to wake up to each morning.

Maggie scored the brown buffet at Crate and Barrel Outlet and boy does it offer her SO much storage! Plus, we love that a piece that traditionally is NOT found in a bedroom is totally working it in this room. What a fun alternative to a traditional dresser…. A+ for Maggie!! #RookieinTraining

Lamp Coffee Nightstand MaggieThe nightstand was a Goodwill score ($10) and the lamp came from Ross for Less for less than $16!! <– Proving once again that you don’t have to break to bank to love the look!ย Maggie Bedroom

As much as we are super excited to share Maggie’s gorgeous bedroom, today’s reveal is a little bittersweet knowing that this is the LAST room in Maggie’s place for us to share. She’s been the VERY BEST at welcoming us into her new place and COMPLETELY trusting our ideas. We have loved our time here and are really going to miss it. For some funny reason though, we don’t think the feeling is mutual. Hahaha poor maggie, she never knew that our “help” came with cameras, tripods, bags and bags and bags of stuff, & way too much “blog talk” before she could even drink her morning coffee. You were a trooper Mags, and now that we completely overstayed our welcome…. the condo is D-O-N-E. #perfecttiming
