Our Morning Green Juice Recipe
Finn has a new toy in the kitchen and it has led to some seriously good food around here! We just splurged on this Vitamix for Christmas and he has been using it, nonstop, to make soups, smoothies, juices, and more. Even though it was a big purchase, we’ve already gotten lots of use out of it and most of the recipes we make are super healthy (minus the milkshakes…). Oh, and Finn is sooooo pumped to someday make baby food in this thing!
Today, I thought it would be fun to share the green juice recipe Finn makes every few days. I have this juice every single morning and it’s a great way to start my day. During this pregnancy, I’ve been extra hungry in the mornings and I like to get something in my belly immediately. I usually drink this juice along with all of my vitamins and supplements while I check my email. I then have a larger breakfast after that. I love knowing that I’m getting a lot of greens and nutrients into my body every day, especially while growing a human!

Tips for Making Our Green Juice
As I mentioned before, this is the Vitamix that we use. You can use any sort of blender to make this recipe, though! We’ve just found that this machine has been awesome to blend every ingredient really well. We had a Ninja for about five years before this and it worked well for us, but the Vitamix seems to be a bit nicer.
It does come with specific recommendations on how to load the blender for ideal mixing. For this recipe, it starts with the most liquid items (i.e. water) and builds its way up to harder things (i.e. ice).
Finn purchased a cheap funnel to make it a lot easier to pour out any juices or smoothies he creates. It makes things waaaay less messy. I’m telling ya, pick one up!
These are the bottles we use to store the juice. This recipe fills about three and a half of them, so Finn will make these about twice a week. If you let the bottles of juice sit for more than two or three days it really doesn’t taste as good, so it’s best to drink them immediately!
Honestly, I feel really good drinking this green juice recipe every morning. I feel fuller, longer (which is a must these days since I’m a bottomless pit), and I like knowing that I’m getting some good stuff in me for the baby (even if the rest of the day I just want to eat sour patch kids). Balance, right?!
Please let us know if you make this recipe! Tag me on Instagram so I can see your green concoctions. Oh, and if you have any other amazing recipes that we can use in the Vitamix…send them my way! Finn has made lots of stuff from the book that comes with the machine, but it’s time to branch out.
