Shopping for Neutral Modern Art

We are making lots of progress on the modern master bedroom we’re decorating for Casey’s brother, Ryan. To catch you up…check out some of these past posts.

Okay, now that you’re on track let’s get to today’s post. Now that a majority of the furniture is in place, it’s time for the fun part…THE ACCESSORIES! We’ve slowly been accumulating contemporary accessories to add to this space, and we’re trying to be really “choosy” as to what we bring into the room. We can’t have this modern space looking too cluttered, instead minimalistic is the feel we’re going for.ย Modern art for the bedroom

As of now, the walls are a bit bare and this space could definitely use some wall art. Specifically, we like the idea of putting 2 horizontal frames on the wall by the bathroom entry (in between the door on the left and the closet on the right, in the above photo). We would place these one on top of the other. Light wood frames (to bring in more warmth) and thick white mats could work perfectly.

We do believe that choosing art is a very personal experience, but we wanted to give Ryan & Sarah some curated options to choose from. We all agreed that we should stick with the modern and contemporary look, and focus on pieces that were black/white/neutral. Here are some of our top pics from Minted.

Modern art for the bedroom We’re also considering adding a large fiddle leaf tree to the right of the window, and perhaps put a large scale vertical frame next to it on the wall. Here are some of our ideas for this large piece.

Of course, we also love the idea of framing a few black and white photographs for the room…so we may end up adding a few of those throughout the space as well. We’ll see how it all comes together. Stay tuned!
