Casey’s Go-To Spring Look

If you could see my expression right now, it would be me giving a side eye to Mother Nature. WTH, girlfriend…where is spring?! Anyone else just begging for some warm and sunny days? Even just 50 degrees sounds heavenly right about now.

The thing is, I’m done wearing my winter coat. I’d rather freeze than put that thing back on. So I’ve decided to be a rebel and just dive headfirst into spring fashion. Maybe Mother Nature will soon follow my lead.

Spring is such an awkward time of year to dress for here in Chicago. It’s still chilly, you still need a jacket, and shorts are often out of the question. But you better believe it that I am rocking my white jeans in order to lighten up my everyday look.

Slimming White Jeans

These white jeans from LOFT are slimming and stretchy

I just bought some new white jeans, because my old ones (from LOFT) were looking soooooย dingy. No amount of bleach was going to save them. So I headed back to LOFT and got these white jeans. I’m very particular about my white jeans (they can’t be see through, they need the right amount of stretch, the ankle can’t be too loose, etc.) and took this purchase very seriously. So I’m pleased to report that I’m loving my new white jeans!Casey walking through the Lincoln Park conservatory featuring spring clothing

LOFT tends to run a bit big on me, so I sized down in these and I’m happy that I did. I like the little slit detail at the bottom, and they’re the perfect length for flats or sandals.

I’ve been wearing these white jeans on repeat. Even when I wear them with a sweater or boots, I feel a lot more spring-like than when I wear those items with regular blue jeans. So join me in breaking out the white jeans!

My Favorite Heeled Sandals

The Rae lace-up sandal from Sole Society go well with white jeans

Now let’s chat about my favorite sandals. This is actually my 2nd pair of these bad boys! I bought them around this time last year and wore them into the ground. When we returned from our Italy trip, I tossed them into the garbage because they had seen better days. I then immediately went online and purchased another pair. Thank god Sole Society still has them (but it does look like they’re running out of sizes. They’re called the “Rae” if you want to search!).

Let me tell you…these are the comfiest heeled sandals ever. The nude goes with everything and I adore the tie-up detailing. I’m a big fan of shoes from Sole Society, so I’d recommend most of their heeled sandals if they don’t have your size in these.

Neutral Top for the Win

Madewell's gray tie-front top is a spring fashion staple.

I’m also on a Madewell kick lately. I just feel like their colors really vibe well with my wardrobe and I’m always impressed by the quality. After hearing Bridget rave about this tie-front top (she has it in white), I decided to buy it in gray. I’ve since worn it at least 5x…it’s that good.ย Gray tie-front top from Madewell is a good wardrobe staple.

Comfy, flattering, and looks good with a jacket or without. Definitely a cute wardrobe staple and the tie inย front keeps it from being too plain.

Light Spring Jacket

A neutral spring look with white jeans, sandals, and a green jacket.

This military style jacket was on my spring fashion wish list and I’m so happy I snagged it for only $24 (there was a deal going on in-store)! Old Navy for the win. I’ve been wanting a jacket in this style for some time now, and when I saw how inexpensive this one was I figured it was worth a shot. I’m not always in love with the quality from Old Navy, but this jacket truly is nice. I’ve been wearing it a lot and it still looks good as new.ย Add a green jacket over a neutral top for a cute spring look

Definitely size way down in the jacket. This is a medium, but the small fit me too (which never ever happens). Old Navy always makes you feel good with their sizing. Nothing like trying on jeans 2 sizes smaller than normal to add a little pep to your step.ย You can't go wrong with white jeans and a military jacket for spring fashion

White Jeans // Military Jacket // Gray Top // Lace-Up Sandals // Necklaceย // Watch

There you have it, the formula for my go-to spring look these days. White jeans, a neutral top, a military jacket, and cute & comfy sandals. Pair it with my favorite necklace (I really need to stop wearing it in every fashion post we do, but I can’t help myself!), my gold watch, and an inexpensive crossbody from Marshalls, and I’m ready for any April activity!

What’s your go-to look for spring? Anyone else struggle to dress in this crazy weather?
